Godsmack & STAIND Set the Credit Union One Amphitheater on Fire!

The Credit Union One Amphitheater in Tinley Park, IL, was set ablaze on August 10, 2021, by the thundering performances of Godsmack and STAIND. The relationship between Godsmack & STAIND started back in 1998 when they shared the Warped Tour stage together, since then the 2 iconic bands have played numerous shows together. During the pandemic of 2020, both Aaron Lewis & Sully Erna embarked on an acoustic Drive-In tour. Tonight, fans of live rock shows came from all over to experience the thrilling performances by the two bands. From the opening act by Mix Master Mike to the finale of Godsmack, the concert was a spectacle of high energy, emotion, and unforgettable moments.

As the crowd piled into the amphitheater, excitement mounted for Mix Master Mike's opening act. Being the infamous DJ of the Beastie Boys, Mix Master Mike had a lot of hype to live up to, and he delivered. He mixed tracks with his unique style and flare, which the crowd lapped up. The audience couldn't help but groove along with the electrifying beats that Mix Master Mike served up. Nothing More was slated to open this tour, but at the last minute had to pull out due to personal reasons.

The mood took a different turn when STAIND took the stage. Aaron Lewis the lead singer of STAIND walked out on stage with a cigarette in between the fingers and his whiskey glass in his hand, ready to tear through 25 years of hits. They kicked off their set with "Lowest In Me" the first single from the band in over 12 years. The new album 'Cycle Of Hurting" has die-hard fans anticipating September 15th when the album drops. Aaron had the audience in awe with his emotional, heartfelt performances of their hit songs, "It's Been Awhile" and "So Far Away." Their stage presence was so captivating that everyone couldn't help but sway to the beat. Aaron commanded the stage, not talking much in the mic until the second to last song, he left the music to do the talking and the crowd sang back with everything they had.

“What a beautiful evening, I hope you’re in a singing mood, it seems so, so far. I don’t know maybe you don’t know the words to this song, and I don’t know the words to this song half the time. Well I’m glad you're having a good time”

STAIND's performance set the tone for the rest of the evening with their raw and authentic music that had everyone singing along.

As the night progressed, it was time for the headliner to take the stage - Godsmack. They began their set with the explosive "When Legends Rise," immediately setting the crowd ablaze with energy and excitement. I couldn't help to think we are seeing a future legend rise right in front of us. Lead singer Sully Erna has put 25 years of blood, sweat, and tears into making Godsmack one of the biggest bands with his lyrics. Sully told the Chicago crowd that this has been one of his favorite cities they have gotten to play in their career, and the crowd lived up to it. The band roared into full-fledged rock with their song "Cryin' Like A Bitch." The fans went wild and jumped out of their seats, screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. Godsmack put on a spectacle with a vast array of pyrotechnics that kept everyone on edge. Lead vocalist Sully Erna mesmerized the audience with his raw and powerful voice, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The guitar solos by Tony Rombola and bassist Robbie Merrill were awe-inspiring and had the entire crowd screaming with joy.

One of the most notable moments was during their performance of "Voodoo," where Erna conjured up a moment of pure magic, extending the chorus into a breathtaking acoustic jam that filled the air with emotion and awe. What stood out in their performance was how they focused on the energy that surrounded the entire concert. From the visually stunning lights and production to Sully's heartfelt performance, every single note of the night conveyed their passion and talent. When the band started to play "Bulletproof," everyone went nuts, singing along as if it were their anthem.
