Kid Rock leaves it all on the stage!
The Summer sun was guaranteed to make this a hot one as Kid Rock’s Bad Reputation Tour rolled into Chicago. In what could be his final Windy City show, Kid Rock left it all on stage with an electric set.
An electrifying night in Tinley Park, IL Started off with the classic rock band Foreigner. Originally formed in 1976, like many of the great classic rock bands they have seen a few lineup changes. Currently, no original members still tour with Foreigner, but that didn’t stop them from warming up the Chicago crowd. Loaded with hits their 60-minute set was nothing, but good ole classic Rock n’ Roll spanning the last 45 years.

The lights dimmed and the Chicago crowd came to a roar as Kid Rocks band “Twisted Brown Trucker” made their way to the stage while Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” blasted over the PA & came to a halt once the lyric “Born & raised in South Detroit” echoed the nearly sold-out crowd. Kid Rock kicked off the high-energy set with 3 huge songs spanning an almost 35-year career while making a statement. Throwing in the fan favorite “All Summer Long” got the remainder of the crowd on their feet.
Kid Rock finished his song “Bad Reputation” with a saxophone solo, which later made its way to a lucky fan that traveled all the way from Germany for the show. The Song & Tour are both named after his 11th studio album. The tour had a special treat for fans, Kid Rock invited fellow artist Trey Lewis out with him to showcase his Billboard #1 hit “Dicked Down In Dallas”. Wearing the shirt of a local bar ‘Emerald Isle, Nashville Singer/Songwriter Lewis sang his hit with Kid Rocks band backing him & winning over some Chicago fans. Wish they would’ve given him one more song to show who Trey Lewis really is, but hey we will take what we can get.
With just an acoustic guitar in hand, Kid Rock reappeared for the encore. He addressed the rumors that some may have heard this would be the last tour. “Life is too short,” said Rock as he talked about his 7-year-old granddaughter, the 51-year-old Rock went on to say for the foreseeable future that this could very well be his last full-scale production. With the somber tone of his voice, I couldn’t help to get goosebumps and maybe a tear, Kid talked about the early Chicago shows at Aragon Ballroom & House Of Blues, while reminiscing he did say
“Chicago, I do have a feeling I’ll be back”.
He then went into the song “Rockin’” as he displayed photos of his family and all the reasons, he has to take some time to himself. With the closing of the classic “Bawitdaba” he left the Chicago faithful wanting more. This Kid Rock production was top notch & if this was the last, he left it all on that stage.
