Priscilla Block Brings The Block Party To Chicago
Priscilla Block got a warm welcome back to Chicago with an almost sold-out show. Tanner Adell made her debut at Joe’s on Weed Street opening up with her smoking hot single, “Tan Lines.” Adell previously played Chicago this summer at Windy City Smokeout. She came out in a Chicago Cubs jersey, rhinestone daisy dukes, and boots. With Adell’s songs being more on the hip hop side of country I felt like I had teleported from Joe’s to PRISM night club down the street. Between the fans blowing on stage, her incredible vocals, and impressive dance moves, she definitely gave “Beyonce with a lasso” vibes. She played several songs off her new deluxe album. She sang “Trailer Park Barbie,” and “Buckle Bunny” which have recently blown up on Tik Tok. She ended her 40-minute set with “Love You a Little Bit.”
Priscilla Block fittingly opened with “Welcome to the Block Party” followed by high energy break up songs “Off the Deep End,” and “Ever Since You Left.” Block explained that she had used the fake name “Brittney” to avoid an awkward encounter when she was recognized by a fan who followed her into the bathroom at a gas station and then proceeded to sing her latest single “Fake Names,” which I learned features Jelly Roll.
Fans handed her a custom pink rhinestone construction vest that she wore for the remainder of the show. She explained her trend of wearing construction vests during her performances actually stems from under-packing for weekends on the road and only having a gas station to shop at. I had so much fun dressing up for this show. I was decked out in items from Priscilla’s SHEIN line, a yellow construction vest, and big hoops with my hair up high.
She performed her popular songs “My Bar” and the monster duet “You, Me, and Whiskey” which went #1 last month on country radio. She brought humor, humility, and storytelling to her show. She is so fun, lovable, and fashionable. There is no wonder why she was nominated for Best New Female Artist by the Academy of Country Music this year. My personal favorites from the show were “PMS” and “Me Pt. 2.” She ended her show with her first radio single “Just About Over You.”
Priscilla brought Tanner Adell back on stage to shotgun a Busch Light with her. Priscilla was so humbled by the fans in the crowd that she stayed to sign merch and take photos after the concert. I can see her booking bigger venues as her fan base is continuing to grow. Fingers crossed that Priscilla puts out more new music in the near future because I just can’t get enough.
