Chart Topping History Made In Country Music

This past week the top 3 songs on the Billboard Top 100 charts were by 3 country music singers. In the first place, it was Jason Aldean with "Try That In A Small Town". Second place was Morgan Wallen with "Last Night". Third place was Luke Combs with "Fast Car". In 1958 the Billboard charts started and never had three country songs in the top three. Can you believe it had been 65 years since they have begun and this is the first time!

The past few weeks have been rough on Jason Alean following all the controversy behind his number one hit "Try That In A Small Town". The song was released to radio and youtube in May of 2023. There have been fans and other celebrities that had stood behind Aldean and this song as we have seen all over the internet and tik tok. This is Jason's first number-one on the Billboard charts but has had one other song in the top 10, "Dirt Road Anthem back in 2011.

Next up is Morgan Wallen sitting at the number two spot with "Last Night". He actually was in the number one spot on March 18 with that song for 14 weeks. He is no stranger to the Top 10 on the Billboard charts though because he has had 6 other songs in the Top 10. Starting with, "You Proof", "Wasted On You", "Thought You Should Know", "7 Summers", "Thinkin' Bout Me", and "Don't Think Jesus". When his album "One Thing At A Time" came out back in March 2023 every song from that album was on Billboard’s Top 100, which if your counting was 36 songs on that chart. I see nothing but great things for Morgan Wallen to continue.

Last but definitely not least is Luke Combs in the number three spot with "Fast Car", which is a remake of Tracy Chapman's song from 1988. Luke has only had two other songs in the Top 10 of the Billboards Hot 100 which were, "Forever After All", and "The Kind Of Love We Make". Luke has had 16 #1 hits counting "Fast Car". Luke and Tracy made history when "Fast Car" hit #1 on the country music charts because Tracy Chapman was the first black woman to have a #1 songwriting hit go number one on the country charts. I don't think there is no way of stopping Luke Combs with all these hits and sold-out world tour stadium shows!
