Eric Church: A Revolution In Nashville With Chief’s And To Beat The Devil Residency

Nestled in the heart of Nashville comes a venue like no other, born from the innovative mind of country music maverick, Eric Church. His newest venture, Chief’s, not only promises to be the next go-to spot for music lovers but also marks the debut of Church's intimate 19-show residency titled Eric Church: To Beat the Devil.

Set against the backdrop of Chief’s grand opening on April 5, 2024, Church’s residency signifies a rare opportunity for fans. Envisioned within the walls of Chief’s is The Neon Steeple, an intimate 350-seat theater designed to echo the legendary acoustic brilliance of the Ryman Auditorium but with a unique touch that’s unmistakably Church.

Church tells Rolling Stone, It’ll be a unique show where I’m going to engage. There’s some funny stuff. There’s some stuff in there I’ve never told. Indeed, To Beat the Devil promises an unparalleled connection between Church and his audience, with never-before-heard songs, deeply personal stories, and a raw honesty seldom seen in today’s performances.

The idea for this groundbreaking residency was sparked by Church's admiration for Bruce Springsteen’s Broadway production. Captivated by Springsteen’s raw storytelling, Church envisages a similar ambiance of honesty and intimacy. He's poised to share untold tales, including experiences surrounding the Route 91 festival in Las Vegas and the poignant story of his brother Brandon’s passing in 2018.

“These shows at Chief’s will be one of a kind, only for Chief’s and with some songs that will only ever be performed during these shows,” says Church. “It's the most unique show I'll probably ever do, and I'm excited to enjoy this chapter of what Chief’s will be.”

Chief’s itself is more than just a venue. It's an embodiment of Church’s dedication to creating unique musical experiences. The theater dubbed the Neon Steeple, occupies two stories of the building and is designed with sonic perfection in mind, built entirely of wood to optimize the acoustical experience.

Church explains These shows at Chief’s will be one of a kind, only for Chief’s, and with some songs that will only ever be performed during these shows. It's the most unique show I'll probably ever do, and I'm excited to enjoy this chapter of what Chief’s will be.

The residency runs from April through early June, culminating over CMA Fest weekend with three unforgettable performances. Fans eager for this once-in-a-lifetime experience should note tickets are non-transferable and must be picked up at the venue’s box office on the evening of the show.

Moreover, a portion of every ticket sold will benefit Chief Cares, Church’s nonprofit, further showcasing his commitment not only to his fans but to wider philanthropic efforts.

Tickets, with reserved seating priced from $99 to $499 and without additional ticketing fees, are a testament to Church’s desire to keep the experience as accessible as possible for fans, also known as the Church Choir.

The anticipation for Chief’s opening and the To Beat the Devil residency is palpable among fans and music enthusiasts alike. As a space conceived to celebrate stories, music, and connection, Chief’s is set to be Nashville’s newest landmark where memories are made and musical boundaries are pushed by Eric Church and future artists who grace its stage.

For a music experience redefined and tales waiting to be told, Chief’s and Eric Church: To Beat the Devil await.
