Kimberly Perry Signs Publishing Deal With Warner Chappell, Songs & Daughters
Warner Chappell Music and Songs & Daughters Publishing have joined forces with Kimberly Perry on a global publishing deal, the GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter. Perry, part of the immensely successful The Band Perry trio alongside her brothers Reid and Neil, has achieved sales of over two and a half million albums and achieved a cumulative two billion streams. On top of that, they have been rewarded with the Best Country Duo/Group Performance accolade for "Gentle On My Mind" at the 57th GRAMMY Awards.
Perry said:
“Since officially moving to Nashville in late 2021, Warner Chappell and Songs & Daughters have been instrumental in reconnecting me with so many of the amazing songwriters here in town. I have had such a wonderful time writing with old and new friends alike. Ben and Nicolle have been such great collaborators and supporters, so I'm beyond thrilled to officially partner with them on this exciting next chapter of my career.”
Nicolle Galyon, Owner, of Songs & Daughters Publishing said:
“I have been a huge fan of Kimberly's from afar throughout her whole career, but our paths didn't cross until a few years ago. It's compelling for me to work with a like-minded businesswoman and creatively fulfilling to dive into the writing process with such a veteran songwriter and artist. Her accomplishments speak for themselves and yet her story is truly just getting started.”
Ben Vaughn, President & CEO, of Warner Chappell Music, Nashville said:
“There's something about Kimberly's musical depth and lyrical wordplay that have always stood out to me. Everyone at Warner Chappell is excited to represent her in this next part of her journey. I can't wait for the world to hear what she's been writing.”
With her chart-topping single "If I Die Young" from her band's eponymous debut album, Perry ascended to global fame in 2010 as a songwriter. To this day, the song has sold 7x platinum copies and has garnered over 200 million video views.
From playing on world-renowned stages to touring internationally, Perry's impressive career has solidified her as an incredible artist. Yet, it is her passion for songwriting that is the heart and soul of her music. This creative force is what continues to propel her even now.
Earlier this week, Perry took a big step toward her future and joined forces with RECORDS Nashville/COLUMBIA Records, beginning a new and exciting journey as a solo artist.
“We’re so excited at Records Nashville to welcome Kimberly Perry as a solo artist with her return to country music”
Says Records Founder and C.E.O. Barry Weiss.
Perry said this about her new label
“From the moment I met the team at Records, their appreciation for my journey and my vision for the future as a solo artist has been overwhelming,” shares Perry. “Everything came together so organically, and it felt right from the very start. I have wanted to live in Nashville since I was eight-years-old, but I only recently got to officially plant roots here. Being in this town of amazing, creative people for the past year brought me full circle to my original passions – country music and sharing meaningful stories. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful and welcoming community here, and I feel equally lucky to have found the perfect partner in Records to get my new music out to the fans.”
We are incredibly thrilled for Kimberly Perry's further ventures in her accomplished career. We are highly anticipating her next steps and, of course, we haven't forgotten about her promise of a rendition of "Lasso" the next time she visits Chicago, this promise was made at Joe's on Weed St. in 2011. We're counting on it!
