New Music Friday | Kaitlin Butts - Roadrunner

Kaitlin Butts is long overdue for the growing attention she is recently receiving and for a damn good reason. In case you don't know of her yet, Butts is a powerhouse Okie who has been releasing music since 2015. She has never been afraid to hit the uncomfortable topics, Kesha covers, and killer intergalactic outfits many other artists wouldn't touch, and she may just cuss a little too (watch out, Roberts of the world).

"Roadrunner" is a hopping, high-energy tune with a fast-paced and quick-witted lyric structure, reminiscent of classic country songs we all grew up on. This song makes you feel like you're in the middle of an electric, old-west stampede, and you better keep up.  She carries this vibe into the album artwork and the masterpiece of a music video she paired with this song. The music video, directed and edited by Kaitlin herself, features lots of gas station stops, tequila shots, backstage fair moments, and life running on the road. You can tell that Butts has the most fun no matter what conditions, whether she's on stage or in the van eating gas station taquitos in the middle of an outfit change, and her lively band is right alongside her.
