Carly Pearce Crushes Show at Joe’s Live

Carly Pearce brought her Country Music Made Me Do It Tour to Joe’s Live in Rosemont. Adam Doleac opened for this stretch of shows. I had the pleasure of meeting Adam before the show and he is just as fun as his songs. He showed Chicago some love by wearing a Bears t-shirt. Adam opened with “Somewhere Cool with You” followed by “Coulda Loved You Longer.” He played the crowd's favorite love song “Another.” He closed with “Famous” and transitioned into “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” which got the crowd going. He is truly a man of the people and all about his fans. He reads his DMs, performs at weddings, takes selfies during the show, and made the effort to meet with fans during the intermission.

Carly stepped out in a lace and leather flowing skirt and her band members in matching outfits. She opened with the power-packed song “Diamondback.” Carly Pearce is one of the most underrated females in country music right now. I have been on a kick of divorced women's scorned songs and her set is full of them. She performed many songs off of “29: Written In Stone” including “Dear Miss Loretta,” “Should’ve Known Better,” and “Next Girl.” I was a little sad that she didn’t perform my favorite “Your Drinkin’, My Problem,” but the overall setlist was good.

She has a new project in the works and she performed unreleased “Trust Issues” off of that new record. “Heels Over Head” is another single she has already released that will also be featured on that project. She showed off her vocals by giving the best cover version of Taylor Swift’s “Lavender Haze” I have ever heard. She also paid tribute to The Chick’s with “Cowboy Take Me Away” towards the end of the show.

She played her Grammy-nominated song with Chris Stapleton “We Don’t Fight Anymore” followed by the Grammy-winning duet “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” which she recorded with Ashley McBryde. She shared the stories behind every single song in her set causing her to go a little over time, but that did not bother the crowd. She closed out the night with “What He Didn’t Do.” Carly has ended the “Country Music Made Me Do It” tour, but you can catch her touring with Tim McGraw in 2024.
