Jackson Dean Brings Gritty Country Rock To Chicago
With his hot single “Don’t Come Looking” quickly rising on the charts, Jackson Dean brought his gritty Country Rock show to Joe’s on Weed with special guest JD Clayton.
The Arkansas kid JD Clayton opened the show & featured a few songs from his new EP “Side A” which was just released this past October. The Chicago crowd started filling up the venue the minute JD took the stage, as his unique Americana sound filled the room. The song that stood out to us during JD’s set was “Long Way From Home” it showcases his true musical talent. Big things are in store for this singer/songwriter.
The smoke-filled Joe’s On Weed, as Jackson Dean and his band took the stage to a nearly sold-out Chicago crowd. The energy in the room nearly matched the same energy Jackson brought to the stage opening with the song “Greenbroke”, which is also the title of his debut album released earlier this year. The grit of this old soul shined through as he went into crowd favorites “Trailer Park” & “Fearless”. One of the strongest openings to a set I have seen in a long time. The mature sound coming out of a young heart was unbelievable. Jackson owned Joe’s stage and had the crowd hanging on to every word. Early shades of Eric Church at Joe’s were prominent with Jackson Deans's set, but he is not comparable cause Jackson was in a world of his own, rocking every song of the set.
His cover of 4 Non-Blondes “What’s Going On” nearly tore the roof off this legendary room. Dean hit a new high when he showcased his song “Wings” for the Joe’s crowd, you could almost hear a pin drop in the packed room. The fan favorite of the night was either his rare sone “Heavens To Betsy” or his hit “Don’t Come Lookin”, which had the Chicago crowd singing right along. Since its debut on the TV show Yellowstone, “Don’t Come Looking” is looking to be a #1 song climbing the charts fast and moving into the top 10. The song was also co-written with songwriter Luke Dick. Jackson closed the set out with a rocking “Red Light” which let the room rattle as Dean’s band turned into full fledge rock for this tune.
Jackson Dean put on the most impressive show I have seen at Joe’s On Weed in 2022, the energy was unlike anything I have seen. His show is a must-see when he comes to a town near you.
